A hot sauce that adds a little kick & an excellent flavor that you can add to just about anything.  While Tabasco and other Louisiana style hot sauces are good, my mouth doesn’t begin to salivate just thinking about them.  And other hot sauces that do taste excellent must be diluted to actually enjoy them.  And that’s not really an option when you want to splash some on a burger and/or fries.

But some years back I ran across Crystal® Classic Habanero Sauce while on vacation and fell in love. While some people complained that it was too vinegary, the taste was just amazing in my opinion.  It had a comfortable heat to it and wasn’t something I had to worry about using too much of (as is the case with many of my other hot sauces).

When I got back to Indy I had trouble finding it so I found a place online and ordered an entire case of it.  That case has recently ran dry.

Talking to some hot sauce store owners I found out that since Hurricane Katrina Crystal® Classic Habanero Sauce hasn’t been available, which bummed me out a bit.   So I got in touch with Baumer Foods who made it and they confirmed that they no longer make it but that it is under review.  I’m not sure what that means, but if they’re taking a vote they have mine as I’d love to have this in the refrigerator once again.
